"OPPA BEIJING STYLE"

Hey guys! This is Angie from "What to Eat Today?" to introduce you a Beijing style restaurant today. If you are a meat lover, you will absolutely love this place as I do. The restaurant has a very straightforward name: Beijing Restaurant, and the food are mostly northern Chinese style.

So let's talk about the food.

This is a place to try some real northern Chinese food. Come here for some glutinous meat balls, juicy beef pancakes, hand made dumplings, and other tasty treats.

I love their House Special Steam Meat Ball, the meat balls are juicy, chewy, and so yummy. The meat balls get fried then are "re-hydrated" in sauce. Also the sauce is tasty and salty. I almost order this every time I go there and I would definitely  recommend to my friends and to you guys.

If you go starving, try their meat pancakes. Beijing Restaurant has a variety of meat pancakes. They have Jing Dong Meat Pancake, Beijing Beef Pancake, also if you are vegetarian, you could try onion pancake. Having difficulty in making choices? I would recommend Beijing Beef Pancake in the first place. The pancakes are so juicy that I bet you won't regret a try.

Warm pot is a great choice in winter. Though there's no "winter" in SF, windy days can be cold. Come to Beijing Restaurant to have some "warm pot". It's different from hot pot. They use clay pot instead of steel ones. I recommend Slice Fish with Preserved Vegetable in Warm Pot personally since I love fish. It tastes a little sour but really really yummy... aww I become speechless when it comes with food.
I promise you will not be disappointed.

Oh if you come from China you probably want to have some "Beijing sandwiches", I don't know what it's called exactly since I order them in Chinese and they know that. They are just so yummy and reminds me of all the delicious food in China.

Beijing Restaurant also has Szechuan style spicy food. If you love spicy food, try Chili Delights with House Special Sauce. It serves with four pancakes. But make sure you can handle the spicy because it's just sooo spicy.

Also the cumin lamb is good: chewy, dry fried lamb with bell peppers stir fried together. The noodles with brown sauce are glutinous, savory, and mild. The cornstarch thickened broth has a viscous character to it but the mild, savory flavor paired with the chewy noodles really attracted my attention. The Beijing noodles have cold crunchy vegetables with black bean paste and hot noodles. The ingredients are tossed table side and give you and cold/warm, crunchy/chewy sensation when you're eating it. The garlicky pea shoots are always tasty and a good way to inject some vegetables into your meal. The liver and vegetables is good if you like a strong irony, metallic, liver flavor and crunchy savory bell pepper. Offal fans may like this dish.

Sounds great? Come to Beijing Restaurant and try them out! It's address is:
1801 Alemany Blvd(between Ocean Ave & Ruth St)
San Francisco, CA 94112

The restaurant has a small parking lot so it's free parking!
