Recently, my uncle was telling me about trying Burmese food together and I was like Burmese what? I thought Burmese food was something like Thai but turns out that it wasn't part of Thailand. I was very curious to see what Burmese food looks and tastes like.
Alright, enough with the blah blah blah of what I did and let me tell you what foods I tried at Mandalay!
Mango Salad
When I first went to Mandalay, I had no idea what to order. I saw someone eating this and it looks kind of good so I decided to give this dish a try. I normally don't like mango with salad together because mango is a fruit, you eat it like you eat fruits normally, and I love mangos, just not with salad. But when I saw the look of it, I ordered it without thinking about that it's mango....with salad. This salad has picked mango slices, green pepper, cucumber, tomatoes, onions, and mixed with some kinda sweet and sour type of dressing. I must say, this salad was pretty delicious. It was well worth a try. (Warning: This tastes a little bit spicy so if you can't handle spicy, don't try this salad. I recommend you to try the Mandalay Chicken Salad instead (not pictured) ^_^).
Mandalay Special Noodle
If you didn't know, when it comes to Asian foods I like to eat noodles more than rice. LOL Since this is my first time eating at this restaurant, I thought I like to see how Burmese noodles look liked. This dish has Burmese flat noodle with chicken, cooked with coconut sauce, yellow peas with lime juice, onion and fried thin noodles on the top. Two types of noodles into one dish!
Overall, this restaurant is really worth to go to if you want to try Burmese food. Sometimes it's good to try out foods that you never tried before. If I go there again next time, I want to try other kinds of foods. The place is unique, good service, and decorations were nicely displayed. If you are hungry and want to go out for lunch but don't know where, this is a place for you to try.
